Built to hyper scale efficiently

HORIZONTALLY SCALABLE

Our protocol is built to support massive scale. If existing rails have not met your scaling needs, look no further.

Instant Confirmation

No blockchain delays, payments are confirmed instantly on Nume. Close the loop for your customers.

FLAT FEES

Nume eliminates gas price as a concept and instead offers flat fees priced in DAI for each supported operation type

Fast on-chain settlement

Settlements have instant finality - which means settled funds are available to be withdrawn on Polygon zkEVM immediately post settlement.

Designed From First Principles

The Nume Payments rollup utilizes hardware enclaves to prove the provenance of a state update to the contract. Rather than proving the validity of the individual transactions on-chain (which requires zero-knowledge proofs and on-chain data), the Nume protocol instead proves that a new state update (to users' balances) is the result of executing the correct code. This turns out to be a vastly more economical approach to trustless scaling, with other desirable consequences too.

INSTANT SETTLEMENT FINALITY

INSTANT SETTLEMENT FINALITY

Nume posts state updates to Polygon zkEVM periodically. Settlements are either immediately accepted or rejected by the contract. Users can hence initiate a withdrawal of their funds immediately after a settlement.

Data Availability

Data Availability

The transaction data for every settlement is cryptographically guaranteed to be made available on IPFS and the IPFS location is guaranteed to be made available on-chain.

image

Non-custodial

The Nume protocol is non-custodial. Settlements with unauthorized changes to users’ balances will not succeed on-chain.

image

Decentralized Governance

(coming soon)

Nume's on-chain as well off-chain code (that executes inside the hardware enclave) will both be governed by a decentralized committee.

The Nume payments rollup can batch an unlimited number of transactions at fixed and low on-chain costs, while trustlessly inheriting Ethereum’s security. This means that the marginal cost of a transaction is zero, enabling the protocol to offer entirely gas-abstracted business models.

The Nume protocol utilizes hardware enclaves to run the offchain algorithm that computes an updated state root from a set of transactions; the enclave signs the new root with a private key known and accessible only to the enclave itself. When a settlement is made to the contract, the contract simply verifies if the public address corresponding to enclave’s private key signed the new root. Hence settlement finality is instant. The rollup is also unique in how it provides its data availability guarantee. Most scaling solutions have to choose between posting transaction data on-chain at higher processing costs (like zk-rollups) vs putting it off-chain with weaker security guarantees (e.g. using a Data Availability Committee). Nume keeps transaction data off-chain *while* proving its irrefutable availability as well as correctness of the resulting balance updates (to users’ funds) on-chain. Transactions are posted to IPFS and the enclave first downloads them before computing the state update, hence verifying that the data has been made available in the specified IPFS location.
To learn more about how the contract establishes provenance of an enclave’s address and the source code the enclave runs, please see the medium blog on nume secutity model.

No. While Nume is not EVM compatible currently, it is already EVM addressable and compatible with most EVM wallets. Users can add Nume Mainnet as a network in their EVM wallet and start transacting on the network today! EVM Compatability is coming in 2024.

You can access the Nume network with most EVM compatible wallets. Network settings:
Network Name: Nume
New RPC URL: https://rpc.numecrypto.com
Chain ID: 7100
Currency symbol: DAI
Block explorer URL: https://explorer.numecrypto.com/

No. Nume’s network token is DAI. All network fees are deducted in DAI.

Nume supports ETH, WBTC, DAI, USDC, USDT and MATIC. Keen to see another ERC-20 token? Let us know on Discord or get in touch with us on X. Note:Token onboarding will eventually be permissionless.

Nume Premium is a trustless subscription service that the Nume protocol offers. For 1.99 DAI per month, subscribers can unlock unlimited operation on the Nume network which currently include: token Transfers, NFT transfers, NFT mints, NFT trades and network withdrawals. Cancel anytime. Learn more about how Nume Premium works here

Partially. Nume’s contracts are open-source, audited and verified on block explorer. Nume’s off-chain software that executes inside the hardware enclave is not yet open source.
